"Shadia Alem reconstructs and shapes elements and beings with unbounded freedom. In her work, relief ranges from the edge of a face to the entrails of a mountain, and entails textures as well. She asserts the complementarity of the souls of these elements, synthesizing thus history, inheritance, and the essence of the avtive inner forces at stake."
