"Abdullah
Al Shaikh expresses the tragedy of a declining era in which the
Arab man is exposed to the hegemony of a civilization imported from
the West.
He reacts against this technological aggression by repositioning
art within its human and social basis.
His paintings show powerless and wounded souls and bodies, which
are nonetheless illuminated with the power of inner truth."
